About Me
I teach English and technical writing to college students, so I can help my husband pay the bills. I also edit and write technical documents for extra money, so I can buy things I like.
I enjoy sitting on the porch and looking at my yard more than I probably should.
Flowers, real ones, make me happier than most other gifts.
I enjoy traveling and am always trying to plan a trip somewhere. I rarely feel fulfilled unless I’m planning a trip.
I am happily married, usually, and ecstatically childless, always. I have two dogs who allow me to fulfill any nurturing needs that ever surface: Dru has been with me since just before I moved to Mississippi in 2005, and Ripley came about in 2006 when I talked my husband (then boyfriend) into adopting her. We regularly regret this decision, but only for brief moments at a time, which seems okay to us.
I garden because it makes me feel good about myself.
I am a lover of all animals except decrepit, smelly cats, but even they will think I love them.
I like music, but, if my husband doesn’t tell me about them, I never know about new bands.
I like movies, but, on average, I only go to the theater once a year.
I like books, as any reasonable person should.
My favorite book is The Sound and the Fury because no one can write it any better than that.
